APDCL seizes over 35 pre-paid electric digital meters in Nagaon, Assam.

A Special squad led by Bijoy Sankar Boruah, CEO, APDCL, Nagaon seized over 35 pre-paid electric digital meters for stealing electric power by bypassing its power connection for long at Royal Aawas, a deluxe apartment located in Dimaruguri, Nagaon on Friday, 30th September.

 

The consumers of the apartment, Royal Aawas did not recharge the power tariff for months due to which the department concerned had doubts in this regard. Based on that doubt, the squad led by CEO Bijoy Sankar Boruah, carried out a sudden operation at the sophisticated apartment on Friday here and during the drive, the squad detected 35 such tampered pre-paid electric digital meters, sources from the department concerned said.

 

The experts from APDCL, Nagaon were examining all those seized digital meters and among 35 pre-paid electric digital meters, the experts confirmed 29 manipulated electric digital meters.
